Pinterest Paint Project

Wonder what our final Pinterest project looks like? Here's the finished product!! Such a fun thing to do with the kids!! I bought the canvases at Big Lots, used painters tape to make the letters, then let them finger paint over the top. Remove the tape when it's dry and the white letters are underneath!

Verizon Insiders~ Crowdtap Party

Oh, boy, do I love Crowdtap!!  Can I just tell you how much?  If you haven't checked it out yet, go NOW!!  I have earned over $200 in Amazon gift cards in the last few weeks.  That is not an exaggeration.  That is the truth.  Ask my hubby!  I even hooked him! :)

Let's start with the Verizon VIP treatment!

Last week, I had the chance to host a party for Verizon via Crowdtap.  Now, this party came with some fun swag!!  Not only did I get some great stuff in the swagbag from Verizon, but I also got some fun gifts from our local Verizon store!  I took the girls with me to the store, so they managed to play with the iPads while I visited with the associate!

The kit from Crowdtap came with two gift cards!  One to buy food/ snacks/ and the other for goodies/ giveaways. I decided an Angry Birds party would be fun and the kids were immediately interested.  Of course, I hit pinterest and started pinning away!!  Check out my Angry Birds board!

We found a ton of fun ideas, but the best part was sitting down with my kids picking out their favorite ideas!

The party came together pretty easily.  We created some nice goodie bags for the guests including iTunes gift cards, clips, pens, and some info about Verizon's new Share Anything plan.

All the kids got to come along, so we planned some fun kid friendly activities for them!  They loved all the Angry Birds gifts.  We gave out a few as door prizes and even let them have a couple of competitions!  Caleb loved coloring the printables I found online and all the boys loved creating their own Angry Birds models.  They used the building blocks and the birds from the beanbag toss game! (Which I scored on clearance for 6.48 from Target!)

To start us off, we had Mexican food for dinner and while I was preparing the food, my sweet little 6 year old decided to throw all the birds on the roof!!  Thankfully, one of my guests climbed up to their rescue! (Thanks, John!)  The kids played with the games while the adults visited about all the benefits of being a Verizon customer.

After dinner, we had an info station where we discussed the new Share Everything plan from dinner.  Most of my guests were already Verizon customers, but a few were not.  We told them the advantages to switching and they were very impressed with the new plan!  I gave iTunes cards too all of the guests, so we ended up the evening by adding new apps onto our devices and playing the games.  The kids of course, played Angry Birds!   Some of them really dressed up for the party!

We even made Angry Birds poop goodie bags!  The kids thought this was so fun to make!

I think one of my favorite parts of the entire night was at the end when the kids were all building their own Angry Birds game with the blocks.  My poor little guy was trying his hardest to knock down those blocks and just kept missing.  Finally, my hubby (the cameraman) told him he would help if he missed this time... This is the result!  Hilarious!!!
That was almost as good as the Angry Bird poop we made for prize bags for the kids!  The kids thought it was so funny that they were eating bird poop, especially when they read the saying out loud...
Angry Bird Poop
"You've stolen our eggs,
To that level you'll stoop
So be careful or next
We'll throw some
Angry Bird Poop!!"
OK, so I really think they just liked talking about poop!  hahaha

You know you've thought it too...

I love my kids... Don't get me wrong!  I can't think of anything I would rather do than hang out and play with them during the day.  However... this has been one of those weeks when I actually had work to do.  I know, shocker, right?  Stay at Home Moms have to work?  I'm working on an extra certification for becoming an online instructor and this week I had a class to take.  That meant less time spent with my little ones and more time spent on-line.  It also meant more interruptions, more fighting, and getting into more trouble because mom couldn't watch them every second!!  That, combined with the crazy back to school sales and ridiculously cheap school supplies that are already popping up in the stores, led me to this thought...  Don't act like you haven't thought it too!
By the way.... how's your summer bucket list coming?  We're marking things off little by little!!  Coming up next is the tie dye party.... stay tuned!

Homemade ice cream

Does anyone else love home made ice cream? We didn't have an ice cream maker so we borrowed one from my parents. This harvest gold beauty is older than I am!! Anyone have a good recipe for homemade ice cream? I would love to have a few recipes! I'm hitting Amazon to buy one of our own!

Here's our recipe:
1 quart half and half
1 can Eagle Brand
1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Do all that X 3!!  Easy as pie!  Dump it in, add ice and rock salt, wait until it stops!  Yummy!!!
